Foreign Secretary William Hague has made a written statement to the British Parliament in relation to the European Court Judgement on taxation in Gibraltar.

In his statement William Hague confirms, due to the ECJ's deciosion not to consider the issue of regional selectivity, that there is no effect on Gibrlatar's position.

William Hague goes on to state "...Gibraltar is a fiscally autonomous entity with responsibilty for the management of its economy, including taxation, vested in the Government of Gibraltar."

This confirms, once again, Gibraltar's self governing powers which allow it to decide its own laws and therefore tax regime.
